Gene Stewart, age 65, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 27, 2024 in his home in Nacogdoches. He was born April 23, 1959 in Nacogdoches, Texas to Norman Stewart and Dorothy Hill.
Gene had a passion for many things in life. His greatest passion and achievement in life was his family. He loved his wife, Donna Stewart, for more than 35 years. He cherished being a dad to Kimberly, Joey, Cody, and Whitney. But his favorite job title in this world was being a pawpaw to Madigan, Gracie, Karagen, and Kodi Beth. The joy could always be felt when he talked about each and every one of his grandbabies. Gene had a passion for the outdoors. Idle was not a word ever used to describe him. It was not unusual to find him working in the yard, spending time at the deer lease, or on the water fishing. Gene faithfully attended and served Timber Creek Church in Nacogdoches, Texas.
Gene leaves behind his wife Donna Stewart of Nacogodches. His father Norman Stewart and wife Nancy of Central Heights. His mom Dorthy Baugh of Cushing. His brothers Johnny Stewart of Central Heights and Lee Stewart of San Antonio. His daughter Kimberly White of Atlanta, son Joseph Weeks and wife Lacy of Hutto; daughter Whitney Lindsey and husband Justin of Hudson. He was the pawpaw to Madigan White of Nashville and Gracie, Karagen, and Kodi Beth Lindsey from Hudson. He leaves behind many friends and family that he deeply loved.
He is preceded in death by son Cody Stewart of Nacogdoches.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Gene's memory to Timber Creek Church, 3801 North Street, Nacogdoches, Texas 75965.
