Garry Beavers Obituary

Memorial visitation for Garry Lynn Beavers, 73, of Nacogdoches will be held from 5-7pm on Friday, April 5, 2024 at Laird Funeral Home.

A dance to celebrate Garry’s life will be held on April 6, 2024 starting at 7pm at the Nacogdoches VFW, 2406 Hunter St, Nacogdoches, Texas.

Garry Lynn Beavers was born in Nacogdoches on August 31, 1950 and passed away in Longview on March 24, 2024. Garry and his first wife, Terrie (Hardy) Beavers married in 1971. Together they raised three children and enjoyed the love of numerous grandchildren until her untimely passing in 2012. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He always taught us to stand tall, be proud, and know ourselves in all situations and supported us throughout the many accomplishments and difficulties of our lives. He helped in the defense of this country by serving in the United States Army during Vietnam and supporting two children in the United States Air Force through numerous deployments and moves about the country. He was a hard working man, putting in 30 years at Moore’s Supply Company. After retirement, he pursued his other love…dancing. He taught his children how to dance at an early age. He was a regular at the Nacogdoches VFW and could always be found on the dance floor two-stepping or enjoying a waltz, which was his favorite. For the last 18 years, he cherished the love of his second wife, Susie Triana. Garry and Susie created many wonderful memories and will surely be reunited on the dance floor someday. “God has you in his keeping. We have you in our hearts.”
