Gara Paul Rogers

Funeral services for Gara Paul Rogers, 70, of Nacogdoches, will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Laird Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00pm on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Laird Funeral Home. Mr. Rogers passed away on August 17, 2025, in Nacogdoches. He was born on September 27, 1954, in Nacogdoches to the late Vernis Vuron and Bennie Dale (Pearce) Rogers.

Paul was born and raised in Nacogdoches. He graduated from Nacogdoches High School in 1973. While in school, Paul played baseball and was a member of FFA. Along the way Paul met the love of his life, Norma Perfect. He married Miss Perfect on November 19, 1988, in Nacogdoches. They were blessed with 37 years of marriage, raising their family together in love and harmony.

Paul was a big fan of SFA basketball, attending as many games as he could. He was an avid motorcycle rider. Paul was a member of the Goldwing Road Riders Association where he was District Chairman and enjoyed riding any chance he had. Ever the outdoorsman, Paul enjoyed snow skiing and watching his Grandchildren’s sporting events. He was blessed in his career of raising cattle. Paul always had his beloved dogs around for company as he was taking care of the farm. One of Paul’s many accomplishments was being president of Libby Water Supply Corp. Paul touched the lives of many throughout his 70 years on Earth. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.

Paul is survived by his wife, Norma Rogers; daughters, Kimberly Ann Spencer and husband, Sammy, and Shannon Elaine Baker and husband, John; grandchildren, Clayton Baker, Ryan Baker, Ben Baker, Wesley Webster, Morgan Young, and Shelby Spencer; great-grandchildren, Addison Claire Baker, Jackson Baker, Kendra Louise Baker, and Hallie Kate Baker; brother, Vernis Dale Rogers and wife, Mary Jo; nieces, Teresa Sazedj and husband, Shahram, and Sherry Pugh and husband, Greg; grand-nieces, Logan, Landry, and Lexie; and grand-nephews, Larson and Zachary.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernis Vuron and Bennie Dale Rogers; and aunt, Norma Jean Singleton.

Serving as pallbearers will be Clayton Baker, Ryan Baker, Ben Baker, Wesley Webster, Shelby Spencer, and Larson Pugh. Honorary pallbearers are Josh Spencer, Zachary Sazedj, Sammy Spencer, John Baker, Shahram Sazedj, Greg Pugh, Vernis Rogers, and Carl "Butch" Haltom.
