Ferriel Gregston, 83 of Douglass, TX passed away May 16, 2023 in Nacogdoches, TX.
A memorial service for Mr. Gregston is scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Westside Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Jackie Yates officiating.
Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 saturday, May 27, 2023 at Westside Missionary Baptist Church.
Ferriel was born in Chireno, Texas to Roy Allen Gregston and Allie Mae Bryant on August 26, 1939. He went to high school at Woden, Texas and graduated Salutatorian of his class in 1958. He went on to earn a degree in business at Nacogdoches Business College in1960. His first job following graduation was with Cason Monk Hardware as a bookkeeper. He went on to work as the accountant for Drewery Construction for thirty plus years. In his younger years he enjoyed coaching his son’s baseball teams, playing softball for church league, teaching his children to water ski, and traveling. He had a lifelong love for working in his yard, landscaping and planting beautiful flower beds. He also loved decorating his home, inside and out for Christmas.
Ferriel is survived by three children, daughters Kathy Phillips and Sherrie Conaway of Douglass, Texas, and son, Carl Gregston of Douglass, Texas, a sister, Betty Gregston Redfearn of Aubrey Texas, five grandsons Heath Pierce of Laporte, Texas, Kyle Pierce of Nacogdoches, Texas, Michael Phillips of Nacogdoches, Forrest Ray of Louisana, and Roy Allen Gregston-Butler of Texas, and a host of great grandchildren and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, a sister, Rachel Whitehead, and his oldest son, Ferriel Wayne Gregston, Jr.
