Elizabeth “Peachie” Mora Fountain, 91, of Nacogdoches, Texas, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024, in San Augustine, Texas. Peachie grew up in Chireno, Texas where she graduated from Chireno High School. She then went on to Massey Business College to study accounting. During her high school days, she was active in the 4-H program and played volleyball. Peachie met the love of her life, T.S. Fountain, at a local dance and the two were inseparable after that. They were married on June 20, 1953, and spent many years together raising their family until his passing in 1980. Peachie enjoyed playing bingo and cheering on the Chireno Owls at basketball games. She was an active member of the community serving on the alter society of the catholic church, manager of the Food Pantry Ministry of the Chireno Methodist Church, and a VFW officer. Peachie was famous for her coconut cake and homemade rolls that her family enjoyed immensely. She took many trips with her family which included a trip to New York City when she was 78 years old for a family graduation. Her love of Elvis took Peachie to celebrate her 83rd birthday at Graceland in Tennessee where she stayed at the Heart Break Hotel. Peachie was proud of her family and all their accomplishments. She was a survivor of breast cancer for 35 years and wore that pink ribbon of survival proudly. Peachie was deeply loved by her many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend appreciation to the staff at Stonecreek Nursing Home and especially Lyndorie Watts, Jana Wise, Rachel Townsend, and Jaysa Bennefield for their love and care of Peachie.

Peachie is survived by her many beloved nieces and nephews; son-in-law, Ronald Thornton; grandchildren, Roger Thornton and wife, Shana, Abby Beckcom and husband, Matthew; great grandchildren, Tristian Thornton, Austin Norsworthy, and Levi Norsworthy.

She is preceded in death by her husband, T.S. Fountain; parents, Jim and Lottie Mora; son, Jimmy Ray Fountain; daughter, Kathy Thornton; sisters, Bernadine Mora Godwin, Lyndon Mora Brown, Charlcye Mora Kenner, Clarabell Mora Sanford, Marilyn Mora Russell; brothers, Clarence Mora and Gerald Mora; and many nieces and nephews.
