Dorothy passed away on November 9, 2021, in Nacogdoches, Texas. She was born on May 31, 1930, in Delight, Arkansas, to Samuel and Lillian Wilson. Dorothy grew up in Delight where she eventually graduated from high school and became a wife and mother, and in turn raised her own children. She met the love of her life, Dwight L. Moody, while in high school through mutual friends. They were married on June 3, 1948, and spent 71 wonderful years together. In that time, they raised 5 daughters who were Dorothy’s whole world. She spent her time as a wife, homemaker, and mother sewing her daughters’ clothes and teaching them how to cook. Dorothy was an excellent cook and made the best meals from the venison that she and Dwight would hunt together. Not only was she very good at cooking, but she also could bake a coconut cake so good that it was fought over at family gatherings!

Family was of the utmost importance to Dorothy. She loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren, surrounded by laughter and good conversation. She was quiet by nature but that never held her back from having fun with her loved ones especially since Dwight was quite the talker and joker! Dwight and Dorothy enjoyed spending early mornings hunting together when it was that season and fishing when it wasn’t. She also grew her own vegetable garden that she would can and save for a later date. Dorothy was a loving mother and wife who was devoted to her family and will forever reside in the hearts of those who loved her most.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Mary O’Pry of Colorado, Geraldene Arriola and husband, Cliff, of Nacogdoches, Texas, Wanda Bell of Spring, Texas, and Linda Greywitt and husband, Bob, of Chattanooga, Tennessee; grandchildren, Lee Bell of Spring, Texas, Shana O’Pry, Cassie Reynolds, LaDonna Wolf, Brian Arriola, Christine Davis, Robbie Greywitt, Eric Greywitt, Jessica Enoch, LaCressia Taylor, Carol Keuthan, and Shanda Davis; 24 great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dwight L. Moody; parents, Samuel Johnson Wilson and Lillian Lee Hancock Wilson; daughter, Janice Taylor; granddaughter, Heather Taylor; and her four brothers and four sisters.
