David Wilson Obituary

Due to Covid concerns, memorial services for David Wilson, 64, of Nacogdoches, will be held at a later date.

David Lynn Wilson was born April 9, 1957, and went to his Heavenly home on August 1, 2021, at the age of 64 following an extended illness. David was a lover of the outdoors. He loved to hunt, fish, ride horses and perform mechanic work. There was nothing that David could not fix or build, and he would spend hours making projects come to life. His knowledge of the outdoors was uncanny. You would always learn a thing or two by just sitting around and listening to him talk.  Above his love for outdoors, was his love for Christ and his beloved wife Joni. His favorite thing to do in this world was to pester her and he always had a good time doing it. They shared the love of horses together and spent many days in the pasture riding. David was an active member in his church where he never denied a helping hand when needed. He took pride in everything he accomplished, especially his children. David left a legacy that will not be forgotten with his kindness, generosity, and a hint of stubbornness.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 45 years, Joni Wilson. His son Michael Wilson (Angel) of Grayson, Louisiana. His Daughters, Katrina Chilton (Eugene) of West Monroe, Louisiana and Samantha Wilson of Chatham, Louisiana. Grandchildren, Cody Alan Lee, Haley Elizabeth Chilton, Joni Abigail Chilton, Tristan Lynn Wilson, Peytan Olivia Wilson, Tabitha Nicole Artigue, Jaxon Ryder Artigue, and one great grandchild, Bailey Vernon Lee. He is also survived by his Mother-N-Law Sarah Norwood of West Monroe, 3 Brothers –in-law, Kenneth Flowers (Donna) of Waco, TX, David Flowers of Oklahoma, Leo Norword Jr. (Sierra) of West Monroe, LA and a host of nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his Mother, Joan Weatherly Wilson, Father, J.W. (Bob) Wilson, and father-in-law Johnny Flowers.
