David Fischer

Funeral service for Carl Davis Fischer, 80, of Nacogdoches will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at Laird Funeral Home with Danny Elliott officiating.  Interment will follow at Stryker Cemetery in Corrigan, Texas.  Visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at Laird Funeral Home.

Mr. Fischer passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025 in Nacogdoches.  He was born on September 29, 1944 in Camden, Texas, the son of Aubrey and Jeanette Youngblood Fischer.

David was a man of loyalty and dedication.  He was a kind-hearted and simple man who loved his family dearly.  David honorably served in the U.S. Army and then proudly spent over 30 years with The Texas Department of Public Safety as a trooper in Nacogdoches County.  When his working days were done, he was able to spend more time with his son Scott as he enjoyed the uncomplicated life after retirement.  However, the true joy in his heart was brought by the birth of a special little girl.  When Aubrey was born, David was overwhelmed with the love of a granddaughter and wanted nothing more than to spend as much time with her as he could.  He did just that and Aubrey had a Paw Paw that loved her more than she could ever know. 

David is survived by his son Scott David Fischer; granddaughter Aubrey Fischer and sister Johnnie Mathews and husband John.

He is preceded in death by his parents and daughter-in-law Marie Fischer.

Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Rusk, Johnny Hooper, Aaron Jobe, Billy Perry, Roger Dudley and William Brueggemann.
