Corey Ray McIver

Graveside services for Corey Ray McIver will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at Bethel Baptist Cemetery in Appleby, Texas. Following these services, the family has invited everyone to attend a celebration of life at the family home at 1511 CR 525, Nacogdoches, Texas, 75964.

Corey Ray McIver passed away on July 16, 2021, in Nacogdoches, Texas, at the age of 46. He was born on November 2, 1974, in Nacogdoches, Texas, to Patrick and Patricia McIver.

Corey grew up in Nacogdoches, where he went to primary school and graduated from Nacogdoches High School. Throughout all his experiences and travels, he always came back home, where he belonged, in East Texas. Corey had a passion for music his whole life. All instruments intrigued him, but the guitar was his favorite. If he wasn’t picking the strings on his guitar, then he was playing with a band or running the sound board. Corey loved knowing how something worked or how it was put together. He was always taking things apart to understand how they worked.

Corey’s jobs allowed him to travel this beautiful country and make friends along the way. Although his job allowed him to build houses, run heavy equipment, and work in the Oil and Gas industry, he always came back to music; he carried his guitar with him everywhere and entertained people every chance he got. Corey's sense of humor was sharp and quick. He was often the first to respond with an appropriate / inappropriate joke that you couldn't resist laughing at. He had a laugh that was so contagious, you couldn’t help but join in.

Corey is survived by his brothers, Micah McIver and significant other, Jessica, Kris McIver and significant other, Joanna Freezner, Casey McIver, Jessie McIver, Josh McIver, and Jeremy McIver and wife, Deanna; and sisters, Melanie Thompson and husband, Jeremy, and Meagan Gomez and husband, Jordan.

Corey is preceded in death by his father, Patrick Ray McIver; and mother, Patricia Ann McIver.
