Visitation for Corey Lunsford, 51, of Garrison will be held from 1-2pm on Friday, April 10, 2026 at Laird Funeral Home.  A graveside service will follow at Holly Springs Cemetery.

Mr. Lunsford passed away on Monday, April 6, 2026 in Garrison.  He was born on January 27, 1975 in Carthage, Texas.

On April 6, 2026, in Garrison, a cowboy rode away when Corey Lunsford, 51, left us. He was a man built from the things that matter: loyalty, grit, generosity, and a heart that never hesitated to show up for others.

Born in Carthage, Texas, he grew into the kind of person who found peace in the early morning quiet of the woods, waiting for the sun to rise while he hunted, not just for the sport, but for the connection to the land and the stillness it brought him. Those who knew him best will forever picture him in his element: boots and a Carhartt shirt on, rifle in hand, and a story ready to tell.
Above all else, Corey loved his family and had a heart the size of Texas. He was the steady one, the helper, the man who would drop everything to fix a problem, lend a hand, or simply be there. If someone needed him, he showed up, no hesitation, no conditions. His kindness and drive to help didn’t just stop with family and friends; it extended to all, including animals. Corey couldn’t let even a calf be in need. His kindness wasn’t loud, but it was constant, and it left a mark on everyone lucky enough to know him.

He is survived by his daughter, Sidney Lunsford; son, Weston Lunsford; mother, Diane Winberg; brother, Chris Lunsford & wife, Sandi; niece, Jaci Adkison & husband, Klay, and great-nephew, Kohen Lee Adkison, who will carry on his stories, his lessons, and his love forward. His legacy lives in the people he raised, the friends he supported, the roads he drove daily, and the countless quiet acts of generosity he never bragged about.

He is preceded in death by his father, Wayne Lunsford.
