Christine Ann Barlow

Memorial services for Christine Barlow, 87, of Flint, will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Laird Funeral Home with Ryan Yates officiating.

Visitation with the family will be held from 1:00 - 2:00pm. 

Christine “Chris” Ann (Payne) Barlow was born January 9, 1936, in Mexia, Texas. She passed away on November 29, 2023, in Tyler, Texas. Christine grew up in Mexia, Texas, She was active in school and church. After Christine graduated from high school, she attended North Texas State University then moved to Tyler, Texas. While in Tyler she met her husband Gene and was married soon after on March 2, 1957. The newlyweds then moved to Austin, Texas while Gene attended law school. Christine and Gene shared many adventures and moved several times while raising their family until they made their final home on the lake in Tyler, Texas. Christine was dearly loved by all who met her and had the innate ability to make everyone feel welcome. She was loved for her compassionate nature, and sincere belief in helping others. She enjoyed many of life’s treasures as she liked to travel, fish, take family photos and had a wonderful gift for organization. Christine stood on her Christian values and shared them to help others. The greatest joy of her life was her family. 

Christine is survived by her loving husband of sixty-six years Irvene Eugene (Gene) Barlow, daughter Sharon Badders and son-in-law Tim, daughter April Aparicio and son-in-law Jesse, and son Lee Barlow, and daughter-in-law Julie. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Kristen Conklin and husband Shannon, Cole Badders, Taylor Cox, Kelly Cox, Alexandra Barlow and husband Larry Tirkey, Caroline Barlow, Natalie Barlow, and five great-grandchildren, Carl and Adalyn Conklin, James and Olivia Ward, Myles Tirkey, and Cameron Griffith. Christine is survived by her brother-in-law Jerry Barlow and many nieces and nephews. Christine was predeceased in death by her parents Wood A. and Mildred Ann Payne, brothers Roger and Thomas Payne, and granddaughter Connie Nicole Badders.
