Charles William Milstead, 92, of Nacogdoches, passed away on Monday, July 5, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loved ones. Charles was born on November 17, 1928, in Mt. Solon, Virginia to George and Laura Milstead.

Charles grew up in Virginia with his seven siblings and parents. At a young age, he learned the importance of hard work and worked tirelessly his whole life as a Plasterer. His father and grandfather all did the same, so it became a bit of a family tradition. Charles got so good, he became well known for his ability to do special effects on ceilings and walls. For a short period of time, Charles served in the United States Army. In his free time, Charles enjoyed looking at old cars, listening to music, and going to the boats in Shreveport! Family was incredibly important to Charles, so he always looked forward to family reunions in Virginia where he was infamously known as the “Pie King”. Dot was quite the pie maker and Charles would just devour them!

Charles is survived by his wife of 59 years, Shirley; daughters, Bobbie Jinkins and Susan Jinkins and husband, Bobby; brother, Harry Milstead; 13 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Charles is preceded in death by his daughters, Rita Russell and Sherry Ann Milstead; son, Charles Milstead, Jr.; parents, George and Laura Milstead; two sisters and four brothers.

Pallbearers will be Brad Jinkins, Chad Jinkins, Eric Jinkins, Cameron Jinkins, John Russell, and Kelvin Green. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Jinkins and John Green.
