Funeral service for Callene Murdock, 84, of, Nacogdoches, will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 28, 2021, at Old North Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Martinsville Cemetery.
Callie Perline (Callene) Murdock was born on July 12, 1937, in Campworth, Texas to James Vester Richards and Josie (Pat) Patterson. She attended Nacogdoches High school, where she graduated in 1955. She went to work for the State as an Adult Social Worker, where she remained until her retirement. She was a woman who was strong in her faith and love for our dear Lord and Savior. She was a faithful member of Old North Baptist Church for more than 35 years, and even served as the secretary and treasurer for more than 20 years. In her free time, she loved quilting, baking, and sitting on her porch to watch the birds and squirrels.
Callene is survived by grandson, Aaron Kerss and wife, Allie; granddaughter, Allison Beathard and husband Chris; great-grandchildren: Debra and Thomas Beathard; Nephews: Jim Wallace, Michael Dean Wallace, David Mason, and Richard Mason; niece, Brenda McDaniel, along with a host of family and friends who love her and will miss her dearly.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Murdock; daughter, Debra Murdock Kerss; parents: James and Josie Richards; sisters: Barbara Smith and Jo Ellen Wallace; and her beloved, Charles.
Serving as Pallbearers are: Aaron Kerss, Chris Beathard, David Mason, Taylor Millard, Chris Englert, and John Jasper.
