Cade Thomas Mervin

Funeral services for Cade Thomas Mervin, 21, of Nacogdoches will be held at 12:00pm on Friday, September 26, 2025, at Laird Funeral Home officiated by Bro. Don Chumley. Interment will follow at Blackjack Cemetery. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00am to 12:00pm on Friday, September 26, 2025, at Laird Funeral Home. Cade passed away on September 21, 2025, in Katy, Texas. He was born on February 17, 2004, in Nacogdoches to John Mervin and Connie Cox.

Cade grew up in rural Nacogdoches. He graduated from Martinsville High School in 2022. While in school, he was a member of FFA and played many sports, including baseball and basketball. Cade enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing for hours on end. His true passion was mud truck racing. He would spend days fixing up his trucks so he could go tear it up in the mud. Cade loved his family with all he had. He cherished any time he could spend with them. Cade loved God and was baptized at Spring Hill Baptist Church. Cade has had a long, hard road in the past year, but he is now at peace. His family and friends will truly miss him but cherish his memory forever.

Cade is survived by his parents, John Mervin and Michelle Cooper, and Connie Cox and Tommy Jones; brother, Thad Mervin; sister, Makayla Mervin; stepbrother, Luke Jones; and his beloved coon dog, Little Man.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jim and Linda Mervin; and his maternal grandparents, David and Jonoyce Cox.

Serving as pallbearers will be Thad Mervin, Call Murdock, Colby Wilson, Tanner DeGeer, Tuff McShane, and Jared Jernigan.
