Bubba Sitton

Graveside services for Merle "Bubba" Sitton, 79, of Nacogdoches, will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, April 16, 2021, at Sunset Memorial Park, with Bro. Dwayne Sims officiating. 

Merle “Bubba” Sitton, Jr. was born on November 30, 1941, in Nacogdoches, Texas, to Merle Sitton and Dorothy Clifton. Bubba passed away on Monday, April 12, 2021, in Lufkin, Texas. He grew up in Nacogdoches county, and spent the rest of his life in East Texas.

Bubba attended Central Heights School district. If he was not in school, then he was out working hard or fishing! Bubba worked from the age of 7 to 77. He was a hard worker for his entire life and passed on that wonderful quality to his children.

Bubba met the love of his life, Joyce, at the Root Beer stand on North Street in Nacogdoches. They were married in 1963 and spent 53 years magnificent together. Some of the things Bubba enjoyed was watching old western movies and fishing.  

Bubba is survived by his son, Vance “Buddy” Sitton and fiancé, Tina; daughter, Kam McPherson and husband, Lewis; sister, Carolyn Blankenship; and grandchildren, Aaron Sitton and Brian Sitton.

Bubba is preceded in death by his loving wife, Joyce Sitton, and his parents, Merle and Dorothy Sitton.
