Funeral services for Brandon Brookshire, 33, of Nacogdoches, will be held at 10:00am on Friday, September 5, 2025, at Laird Funeral Home officiated by Bro. Paul Sevar. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00pm on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Laird Funeral Home. Brandon passed away on August 31, 2025, in Nacogdoches. He was born on August 11, 1992, in Nacogdoches to Robert Sutcliffe, Jr. and Melissa Lee (Lambert) Wood. Brandon was raised by his paternal grandparents, Alfred and Wanda Brookshire.
Brandon was raised in Nacogdoches. He graduated from Nacogdoches High School in 2010. While in high school, Brandon was a member of the Dragon Band and had the privilege to attend the 119th Annual Rose Bowl in 2008. He attended Panola College receiving his LVN certification. He joined the United States Marines in July 2018. He proudly served 5 years as a Marine achieving the rank of Lance Corporal in June 2019, Corporal in June 2020, and Sergeant in September 2023. Ever the student, Brandon earned his EMS certification and recently was certified as an electrician. Brandon spent many hours in the gym. He enjoyed working out and running 5ks with his grandmother, Wanda. Brandon was a member of Milam #2 Masonic Lodge and Calvary Baptist Church. He was taken from this world too soon and will be missed by his family and friends.
Brandon is survived by his paternal grandmother, Wanda Brookshire; maternal grandfather, Thomas Lambert; parents, Robert K Sutcliffe, Jr. and Melissa Wood, and husband, Mike; sisters, Ashley Selph and husband, Jake, Brittany Dodd and husband, Roger; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Alfred Brookshire; maternal grandmother, Lucy Lambert; maternal great-grandmother, Hazel Brooks; and uncle, Chance Lambert.
Serving as pallbearers will be Blake Ferguson, Taylor Langley, Mike Wood, Roger Dodd, Lance Lambert, and William Ferguson.
