A graveside service for Bonnie Sue Jacobs, 86, of Woden will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at Simpson Campground Cemetery with Bro. Paul Sevar officiating. Mrs. Jacobs passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2025 in Nacogdoches. She was born on December 13, 1938 to parents, John David Sowell, Sr and Luna Mae Wilburn Sowell.
From her childhood to her adult life, Bonnie was fortunate to have been surrounded by her wonderful family. Her love for family was irreplaceable and undeniable. She enjoyed spending every second with her loved ones and continued to spread joy through every encounter. Her happiness came from those she loved the most and her great love of Jesus Christ. She met and married the love of her life, Wyman Jacobs, on October 30, 1959 and spent 54 years by his side. She helped with work on the family farm and took great care of her family. Bonnie was a remarkable cook and spent many hours doing so, not only for her family but also for others in the community who were in need. Her passion for the Lord was evident from her dedication to His church. She spent many hours reading her bible and telling others about the love of her Savior. Bonnie was a member of Woden Baptist Church for over 40 years, where she taught the women’s Sunday school class for many of those years and played the piano for services. Later, she became a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Nacogdoches. Bonnie’s most blessed times were spent with family and friends, often playing “42” or simply watching her grandchildren play sports, who lovingly knew her as “Nannie” or “Nana”. Bonnie spent a great amount of her time tending to her flower beds. The delight she felt from having such a picturesque landscape made her immensely happy.
Bonnie is survived by her children, Linda Brookshire, Larry Jacobs & wife, Latricia and Lance Jacobs & wife, Angie; grandchildren, Lane Jacobs & fiancé, Flor Elizondo, Lindsey Mahan, Madison Jacobs & wife, Kate, Ethan Jacobs, Caleb Jacobs, Shelby Walker & husband, Hunter and Chelsea Brookshire; great grandchildren, Madalie Mahan and Shepherd Jacobs and her brother, John Sowell, Jr. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
