Billie Ballard Obituary

Graveside services for Billie Janice Ballard, 89, of Nacogdoches, will be held at 2:00 PM, on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery with Bro. Dale Morton officiating.

Mrs. Ballard passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2025, in Nacogdoches, TX. She was born on March 11, 1936, in the Spring Hill Community of East TX.

Our dear, wonderful mother was like a good friend, a best friend, always there for us, offering and wanting to help. She was a mother before all else. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much. They were most important to her. She loved spending time with her family. It was very important to her to be involved and participate in family events. She was a big  and important part of our family. Her home is full of family pictures. Billie was a kind, loving, supportive and generous mother.

Billie graduated from Nacogdoches High School. She enjoyed going to church. She also enjoyed going out to eat and visiting family. She enjoyed traveling, especially to the mountains of Colorado. Billie was a good cook. She did a lot of cooking especially for the holidays. She made the best cornbread dressing and pecan pies.

Billie also liked to read. She looked forward to the newspaper and her favorite magazines. She had a good sense of humor and enjoyed laughing. Her home was surrounded by pretty flowers. The last few years were very challenging, but she remained remarkably positive and strong.

Mother will be greatly missed by her family. She loved her family, and we loved her.

Billie is now reunited with her parents, Forrest and Ima Jackson; sister, Mary Jackson, and other loved ones who have gone before her.

She is survived by daughter, Rebecca Hurst of Nacogdoches; sons, Ralph Ballard of Nacogdoches and Darrell Ballard and wife, Robin of Loveland, Co; grandchildren, Clay Hardeman, Regina Acosta, Ian Ballard, and Eryn Ballard; and great-grandchildren, Sydney Acosta, Gavin Acosta, Juniper Ballard, and Maxwell Ballard.

Mother, we love you and miss you very much. We were fortunate and blessed to have you in our lives.
