Beverly Sue Parrish

Funeral service for Beverly Sue Parrish will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Calvary Baptist Church with Bro. Paul Sever officiating.  Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Friday, May 19, 2023 at Calvary Baptist Church.

Beverly Sue Parrish, 83, of Nacogdoches passed from this life into eternal life on Tuesday, May 9, 2023. She was born May 25th, 1939, in Eldorado, OK. At the age of 18, she moved to Jacksonville, FL and began going to business school and working at an insurance firm. She rented a room from one of the employees that was married to a man who owned a floral shop. In walked the love of her life LaVaughn Parrish and after a short courtship, they were married a few months later in 1958. She and LaVaughn traveled all over the country together while he was in the Navy and lived in many different homes. No matter the house, together they made it home. They finally settled in Nacogdoches where they started a family.

Sometime in 1963, their children were playing in the front yard together and Brother Ervin, Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, stopped by and invited the entire family to Sunday service. Beverly has been an active member of Calvary Baptist Church ever since. She taught ages 4 to 5 Sunday school class, youth group, and sang in the choir for nearly 50 years. Beverly has been very active in her Sunday school class as well as Renewal.  Her family would like to thank them for their wonderful support and care over the last few months. They have truly been the hands and feet of Jesus and have shown unconditional love for our Beverly.

Beverly was the definition of patience. Whenever they were out and about, LaVaughn would be looking at old cars, garage sales, and sitting for hours talking to others. Beverly would find a good seat with a good book and patiently wait until it was time to go. Beverly has patiently been waiting until the day she would see LaVaughn again, and the day has finally come. They are finally rejoicing together again, united in Heaven.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, LaVaughn Parrish, mother Edith Fuller McIntyre and stepfather Morris McIntyre who was her dad, and step-brother Charles McIntyre.

 Beverly is survived by her son Scott Parrish of Nacogdoches, daughter Beth Dusek and husband Lynn of Brenham and daughter Kim Henson and husband Mike of Nacogdoches; grandchildren, Logan Skeeters and Melanie Harbison of Nacogdoches, Jake and Emily Skeeters of Dallas, Anna Dusek and fiancé Garrett Sweeney of Conroe, McKenna Skeeters of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Abby Parrish of Marion, Lee Dusek of Waco and honorary granddaughter, Becca Murski and fiancé Tristan Wilkinson of Brenham. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and close friends.
