Barbara Louise (Beaty) Krauskopf

Barbara Krauskopf (Mom) met Willie Krauskopf in Bay City, TX at a café, where she worked; he would come in to eat lunch, from working on an oil rig in the area. They fell in love and were married on June 29, 1957. September of 1958, Labor Day, they had a son James, then in November of 1959 came a daughter Sandy, five years later in April of 1964, daughter Kim, another five years later March 1969, daughter Tina. In September of that same year, we all moved to East Texas, between Timpson and Center (Folsom Chapel Community). Five years later, September 1974, our baby sister Tammy was born. Mom was the perfect room mother while we were in grade school. She always made the best cookies for our class parties and all the kids thought she was the prettiest mom. She worked various jobs, but her main job was raising her kids and taking care of Daddy. She also worked in a flower shop, Dairy Queen and the Corner Quick Stop Store at the corner of Smith Rd.

Then after moving to East Texas, we went from raising horses to raising cattle, pigs, chickens, turkeys, we had it all. She and Dad bought 83 acres with animals, equipment, and a brick house. We thought it was paradise, it was our first real house. All the kids in the neighborhood would come to our house, Mom always had something good to eat. She worked various jobs here too, loved her crafts, making homemade dolls and animals, painting, and flowers.

Her and Dad in 1975 built and ran Willie K’s Meat Processing, they did that for many years, she also opened a unique craft chop – (The Bluebonnet Shop) where she sold her crafts and homemade items.

In 1987, she lost her lovely daughter Tina to a terrible auto accident. It was very heartbreaking for the entire family. We all learned to move on. Mom was working at Fred Hudson’s Hardware in Center, TX and then at Dance Furniture when she had her stroke in 2000. She was such a strong lady and didn’t let that stop her, she learned to cope and live with her disability. She loved life, her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids with all her heart. We celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 29, 2007, then on New Year's Eve of that same year she lost the love of her life. After Dad died, she moved to Nacogdoches and lived 14 years at Pruitt Park on her own, with some home health help. She loved having coffee every morning with her son James. Six months ago, she moved in with her son James and Micah and Morgan. She enjoyed her time there with them, she loved her hamburger on the weekends.

While living in Center, Mom was a member of Folsom Chapel Baptist Church, then when she moved to Nacogdoches, she joined Mahl Baptist Church.

She enjoyed her friends at Pruitt Park, also watching her grandson Morgan ride his tractor while sitting on the porch. She loved the Lord with all her heart and prayed every night for her family and for Jesus to come take her home. Mom also enjoyed watching her game shows every day and she looked forward to our times in the evening watching TV before bedtime.

Mom will truly be missed by all her family and friends.

Barbara Krauskopf is survived by her sister, Connie Sams of Willis, TX, brother Vernon Boyd Beaty of Center, TX, son James Krauskopf and wife Micah of Nacogdoches, TX, daughters Kim Stovall of Conroe, TX, Tammy Penhallegon and husband Curt of Marshall, TX, son-in-law Joe Junior Parks of Tenaha, TX as well as seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father Vernon Beaty and wife Irene, her mother Willie Way Socha, husband Willie J. Krauskopf, daughters Tina Krauskopf and Sandy Parks and grandchildren Colby Krauskopf and Mackenzie Parks.
