On Sunday, June 6, 2021, Anthony John Hubacek passed away in the loving arms of his beloved wife, Vickie Sue while surrounded by special friends and was welcomed into the arms of his Lord. Anthony was born on December 24, 1951, in Dallas, Texas to John Hubacek and Mary Jane Blazek Hubacek. He grew up in Hutchins, Texas where he attended Wilmer-Hutchins High School and met the love of his life, Vickie. Anthony and Vickie were married on June 21, 1969, in Dallas, Texas and together they begin building the life they loved.  They would have celebrated 52 years as husband and wife in 15 days.  In 1980, the couple moved to East Texas where they would start a new chapter of their life.  He was a man who loved the outdoors.  Hunting and fishing the river with his friends were two of his favorite pastimes. In 2019, he & teammates won the fishing tournament “King of the Sabine” and were awarded belt buckles which he wore with pride.  He also enjoyed the time he & Vickie spent at the beach together.  Before their retirement in 2016, he was the owner of Hubacek Construction.  His talent of creating something special from nothing was evident in the finished product.

Anthony is survived by his wife, Vickie Hubacek; son, Jamie Hubacek and wife, Denice; grandson, Jake Hubacek; brothers, Elick Hubacek and Johnny Hubacek; special cousins, Sandy & Mike Higgins and Glenda and Jim Pinkston. Friends that became family, Matt and Junita Branstetter, who held a very special place in his heart, and a host of special friends and family.

Anthony is preceded in death by his parents, John Hubacek and Mary Hubacek Smith; brothers, Alvin and George Hubacek; father and mother-in-law, Homer and Hazel Walker; and Striker, his devoted Jack Russell.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Eric Odom, Doug Davis, Steve Wilkes, Tommy Davis, Matt Branstetter, Harvey Branstetter, Mike Poole, Gary Matlock, Tommy Huff, Joseph Ramirez, Lukas Wilkes, and Phillip Barrett.

The family would like to also extend a very special and forever grateful thanks to Brandie Best & Eric Odom.
