Amity Leigh Arriola was born on March 18, 1987 in Lufkin, Texas.  As a youngster, she spent many hours with her siblings.  They laughed and played and when they grew up, they held onto the special bond they shared.  She loved each of them dearly.  Amy enjoyed sports and was especially good at softball and was an amazing pitcher but no matter what the sport, she succeeded in being great at it.  She proudly accepted that she got her athletic ability and drive to succeed in sports from her Dad.  Through the years, Amy developed a love of art.  It didn’t matter if it was in the form of music, writing or working outside with her beautiful flowers and plants in the gardens.  She had an eye for detail and knew what looked good together.  She used this special ability in most anything she done.  She would redecorate often, which led to much laughter as well as many jokes about her being a tad bit OCD.  She also made her space her own without regard to where she was.  Her most recent passions included a love of cooking.  Her casseroles were the best, but she was a superb chef with any entrée.  When life dealt her hardships or struggles, Amy always met them with great confidence and super ability to make it through it all.  The compassion she had for others led her into ministry and she loved the time she spent with her mom as they volunteered at Womens Encounters.  She was a great friend to many and was loved deeply by her family.  Her contagious smile and infectious laugh lit up any room she walked in and her joy radiated to those around her.  Amy’s family will hold onto the wonderful memories that her short 34 years have left them and remember her for the beautiful, kind, caring and compassionate soul she was.  Until we see you again Amy, we love you.

Amy is survived by her mom, Melanie Crowel and husband, Ron of Bellaire; brother, Terry Arriola of Bellaire; sisters, Camile Franks and husband, Damon of Grandbury and Jennifer Simonton and husband, Ty of Mineral Wells; grandmother, Cora Byars of Bellaire; God-parents, Edward and Rose Dill; fiancé Jessie Beaumont and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
