Mr. Milner passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024 in Lufkin, Tx. He was born on November 30, 1936 in Alicia, Arkansas.

Charles Ray Milner was born November 30, 1936, in Alicia, Arkansas to Carmen Mildred Milner (nee Crumpton) and Otto Pearl Milner. He was the second of five children, Bonnie, Carolyn, JoAnn, and Gene. He passed from this life on April 19, 2024, at the age of 87 years, 141 days. His folks moved to Alta Loma, Texas when he was 3 years old, where he attended 1st thru 12th grade at the Santa Fe, Texas school. Not only did he excel at sports, lettering in baseball, football, basketball, and track, but was also an excellent student finishing his Santa Fe school days with a 98.4 grade average.

He was a hard worker even as a youngster and began a shoeshine business at age 11. He began preaching at age 15, which led to a lifelong passion that lasted 72 years. He attended Abilene Christian College, where he met and married Daphne Hardy Davis. To this union 4 children were born: Charles L., Kathy, Mary and Charlotte. While finishing his degrees in Bible and Greek, he moved his young family to preach for the church at Kamay, Texas. He was a Gospel preacher and would go on to preach for other congregations in Texas, Oklahoma, Illinois, Arizona, and Arkansas. He was a state side missionary, going back to Illinois where he had sold Bibles as a college student, helping with the construction of that congregation’s first building. He also traveled to Russia to teach the Good News.

During the time he was preaching in Arizona he met Patsy Cullen Daniels and they were married on September 4, 1982. She became a preacher’s wife and supported him in his work with churches around the country, including driving him to his last preaching appointment in Arcadia, Texas just a few weeks ago on April 7, 2024.

He enjoyed fishing, watching the Arkansas Razorbacks on TV, and loved their “little dogs” Anna and Bella. He loved his wife, his family and he loved the Lord.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Bonnie Caskey and husband Don, brother Gene Milner and son- in-law Larry Stanaland.

He is survived by his wife Patsy, son Charles L. “Chuck” Milner (Beth), Reydon, Oklahoma. Three daughters: Kathy Darden (Paul) Nacogdoches Texas, Mary Colliflower (Mark), League City Texas and Charlotte Stanaland, Nacogdoches Texas.
